List View for software users without a Tool Wall

In Tool Wall A,B,D or E you store all the tools that are permanently in a holder, empty holders and Common- or BIN Tool Assemblies. All but BIN tool assemblies are automatically installed by the Job Control Module if they are found in the Job G-Code selected.

View all “System Tools” in the Icon format

Display the virtual Tool Wall in “Icon Format” The “Icon Format” has the advantage to identify Alias Tools by its icon. This button lets you toggle between the two displays. However you can select either one as your default setting from the Settings module.

For Software users without a Tool Wall storage shelf a “List” format is default. Tool Wall shelf owners can select between all 3 methods.

Tool In Tool Wall This tool is a “Master Tool” that is in the storage system. There is only one Master Tool of each specific tool. You can have as many duplicate tools as you want. They are called “Alias Tools”. Indication Icon

Location not occupied An empty location in the storage system can be filled by clicking on it. Making a tool selection will place a new tool into this location.

What you should know about a “Master Tool” 1) Look at all your tools like you have only 1 of each type. 2) Since you have only 1 of each type, you have to program with it. 3) You might need a short one and a long one of the same type. 4) Create as many as you need but never duplicable a Master tool. 5) A Master Tool is permanently mounted in a holder. 6) A Master Tool has all the tool operational data. 7) A Master Tool will be selected automatically in Job Control.

What you should know about “Alias Tools” Alias Tools are “Duplicates”. If you are making a duplicate of a Master Tool you have to create an Alias Tool. All the Master Tool Data will be copied to your new Alias Tool. If a Master Tool is not available, the System will automatically select the next available Alias Tool.

Go To - Next panel Depending of the tool holder type, a tool panel can hold either 60 or 160 tool holders of the same type. Displayed is the storage unit you actually have. The Tool Wall system can be expanded to a total of 99 panels. This button will display the next panel in sequence.

A tool position in Tool Wall can easily compared with the same position in the Virtual Tool Wall. The Tool Wall Kern tool display setting is shown

BIN Tools have no fixed location. They are stored at any location or in a bin. Hence the designation “BIN” tools. Install a BIN tool by selecting a holder first. Now select a BIN tool and an assembly is created. BIN tools are not automatically selected for a job using the Job Control module. Goes to the Tool BIN

Common tools are not permanently mounted in a Tool Holder but have a fixed location. Goes to the “Common Tool” list

This tool was in a machine with the tool location displayed on the icon. This tool is still in transit. For example: MA1 = Machine A1 was last location.

BIN tools are what the name suggests: Tools discarded or for any other reasons put into a bin. Every shop has one.

BIN tools retained the data from the time they had another status. BIN tools can be resurrected to Master Tool status or made into an assembly and used. They however can not be automatically selected through Code or TWig sheets.

Common tools are what the name suggests: Tools that are not machine specific because they are not permanently mounted in a holder and can therefore be installed into any machine in form of an assembly.

Common tools have data which are carried forward when made into an assembly. All Common tools can be automatically selected in the job control module.
